Regenerate is a special ability in Magic the Gathering Tactics.
When a figure with regenerate would be destroyed, it can fully heal instead.
Unique characteristics
Regenerate has a cost associated with it. If the cost is mana then the mana is automatically paid, if available, without choice.
If attacked, a figure that is destroyed and regenerates does not get to counterattack the creature that destroyed it.
The regenerate ability can be overwhelmed by numbers, since resources for the cost can be scarce.
Offensive defense, such as vigilance and first strike, can combine well with regenerate protecting its weaknesses.
Comparison
Regenerate functions the same in traditional Magic cards and Magic Tactics. It is less powerful in Magic Tactics since creatures can attack other creatures and opponents also may be able to force resources spent on regeneration costs.
